So when I think about this, the first thing that comes to mind is being able to muster up enough gut and strength to do something different than I have been or to do something that’s new or even foreign to me.
Since I started this new job with such long hours and long days, I have not yet to get use to this. I am not use to getting up with the roosters and leaving home while it’s still dark in the sky and returning when its after dark still.
Working 12 hour shifts 3 days a week and then a half day on the fourth day is quite a struggle to get use to. I have had to discipline myself to take my meds early, eat earlier than I have been, and go to bed a lot earlier than I was. I am one of those people that require that extra boost and that extra push to motivate me to do what I know is the right thing to do because I am so use to giving up and doing what I shouldn’t do.
If anyone feels like I do at times and just want to say “the hell with it”, and do what you’re use to doing, fight the temptation and go with your better judgement and do what’s right and better for you. Do what’s going to make you that better person. Do what’s going to make a good name for your character and who you are and keep striving. Don’t give up or give in. Try doing what’s different and makes you great!
I encourage anyone who feels like this at times to challenge yourself and then you will feel full and satisfied and you can look back and say “damn! I did the damn thing!” You will be grateful that you did it. You will have accomplished your challenge and mission that you could’ve missed out on.
Remember that there will be a new day and better days ahead!
